FREEDOM explores the promise, complexity, and contradictions of freedom through the imagery of the American flag.

Layers of newspaper, distressed textures, hand-printed marks, and painted elements create a worn and fragmented flag reflecting the history, struggles, protests, and stories that have shaped the idea of freedom in America.

At the center, the word FREEDOM emerges from the layers, serving as both a declaration and a question: What does freedom truly mean, who gets to experience it, and what does it take to protect it?

The fingerprints across the blue field represent the individuals who make up this country. Every person leaves a mark. The layered newspaper speaks to the ongoing conversation surrounding Americans victories, conflicts, contradictions, and continued pursuit of something better.

This piece is ultimately about voice, resilience, identity, and the ongoing pursuit of freedom.
