Immigrant explores movement, identity, belonging, and the value of what we carry with us when we leave one place and build a life somewhere new.

Thousands of stamps from countries around the world form the foundation of the piece, creating a visual landscape of migration. Each stamp represents a place, a journey, a history, or a connection. Together, they become something larger a collective portrait of people crossing borders and bringing their cultures, experiences, and dreams with them.

At the center, layered imagery and hand-worked elements introduce the human experience of migration: separation, resilience, displacement, and the search for belonging. The work also reflects on the contradiction of being welcomed for what immigrants contribute while simultaneously being made to feel like outsiders.

Rather than presenting immigration as a statistic or political argument, Immigrant focuses on the human being behind the movement the person who leaves home hoping to create something better while adding another layer to the place they now call home.
